This is Paradise…

I hope everyone had fun celebrating the children this week and have made plans to spoil their Mothers not once but twice coming up soon! Mexico always celebrates Mother’s Day on May 10th while the US celebates on a Sunday which falls on the 12th this year. Every day should be devoted to Mothers…after all, where would we be without them?
The Paradise Community Center (127 Pulpito across from Coco´s Kitchen) has two fabulous ideas for you – both happening this coming Saturday, May 4th. From 9 to 1 shop at the Coop Market and find something to shower mommy with all your love and affection. I invite everyone to stop by my table on Saturday, peruse my recycled goodies and be introduced to our vendors that have already been featured in this column. To musically finish Mother’s Day come to the Cinco de Mayo concert at 8 pm; terrific entertainment starring Jorge Acosta, Eduardo León and friends. ¡Viva Mexico!
Summer is looming. Temperatures and humidity levels are creeping up. The big question for Vallarta residents and tourists is – how in hell (some days feel like it!) does one BE cool, GET cool and then stay there? The “Fabulous Fabric Fellows” have an answer…Cooling Ties. Bill and Alejandro will help you choose one of their stylish and colorful 100% cotton ties to either match an outfit or a goes-with-everything tie that will be your best friend throughout this long, hot summer and others for years to come. The idea behind the Cooling Ties started with the US government that needed a way to keep armed forces personnel cool in hot climates. The cooling magic-crystals are carefully measured into a small opening in the cotton tie – made here in Puerto Vallarta – then closed. Instructions for use are included in every purchase and if you ask nicely, Bill just might allow a test run while you shop the Market. You will be amazed at how quickly your body temperature cools down and stays cool and – with the vast array of colorful fabrics available – you will also BE cool!
If the Cooling Ties weren´t enough the “Fabulous Fabric Fellows” also conjure up zany tee shirts and fun aprons, the likes of which you will never find at a mere retail outlet. Custom orders are available – imagine happy cool staff sporting your company logo!
